IFA 2018: Experience the entire Gigaset portfolio
2. August 2018 Published by Jana GreylingIFA is the world’s leading trade fair for consumer electronics and home appliances. More than 6,000 journalists and around 250,000 visitors will be there from August 31 through September 5. This marketplace for innovation is a must for Gigaset, as one of the leading telecommunications companies. You can experience the latest Gigaset products at first hand at four different stands.
Gigaset varies its attendance at IFA from year to year. Its last major presence with its own stand was in 2015. In the following two years, we used the trade fair mainly as an opportunity to meet sales partners and innovators. In 2018, the company is focusing on partner stands, presenting itself at the exhibitions of various retail partners.
“Our portfolio is relatively large” says Raphael Dörr, Head of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations at Gigaset AG. “It ranges from DECT phones, smartphones and smart home solutions to professional solutions for SMEs. That makes the partner concept very appealing to us. We can present our topics in the ideal context.”
KOMSA (Hall 4.2 / Stand 111)
KOMSA is one of the leading service providers in the information technology and telecommunications industry and a partner to all well-known manufacturers and network operators. As a distribution specialist, KOMSA is a key partner of Gigaset. The latest smartphone portfolio will be showcased at the stand. All models – from the “people’s smartphone” GS270, the powerful GS370 to the latest models, the GS100 and GS180, and the first smartphone made in Germany, the GS185, will be on view. Oliver Kinne, Head of Sales Smartphones, will also be there as contact person.
EURONICS (Hall 23 / Stand 102)
EURONICS stands for retailers of all sizes – from the specialized outlet to the huge specialty store – who have pooled forces under one roof to create the largest group in the industry in Europe, with more than 11,000 locations in 30 European countries. Consequently, visitors can find a broad portfolio from Gigaset at EURONICS – from the most recent HX phone models for direct use on various DECT and CATiq routers, the GS185 to the latest smart home solutions. Clemens Lapawczyk will be the contact person for Gigaset Sales there.
Conrad Connect (Hall 6.2 / Stand 102)
Conrad Connect is a platform on which projects with various smart devices and services can be created. This increases interoperability between different devices and solutions and enhances customer benefit. The concept is an important integrator, especially for connecting different smart home solutions. Gigaset recently launched partnerships with Amazon, Google and Philips in order to integrate their products with Gigaset’s security scenario; however, the possibilities offered by Conrad Connect will expand that range considerably. Gigaset is presenting its latest Smart Home portfolio and a very new case in the area of smart door opening. Dirk Kelbch, Head of Smart Home, will be there as the contact person for strategic and technical topics. Sales-related issues can be addressed to Jörg Neumann.
DECT Forum (Hall 6.2 / Stand 134)
Gigaset has played a major part in developing and shaping the DECT standard (the wireless interface between DECT phones and other devices) over the years. As a member of the DECT Forum, the company will also be present at its stand at this year’s IFA. The DECT Forum’s mission is to support a collaborative environment in the DECT industry and drive programs to develop and improve DECT wireless technology in order to exceed wireless communications expectations and meet the needs of a technology-shifting world. It is an interesting arena for anyone wanting to know more about the details of DECT technology. Edgar Schollmeyer, Product Manager Smart Home, will be on hand to demonstrate the use of DECT wireless technology in smart applications and as a contact person.
