The Gigaset year 2019 in review

A veritable firework of products – from smart home solutions to smartphones and professional communication solutions for companies. In this post we review the past year and look back on some of the highlights.
Smart Home
Everyone has heard of it, but not everyone knows what it is all about. This is shown by a study from 2019. That is why Gigaset relies on a smart, yet particularly easy networking system.
The heating control works with the smart thermostat launched in 2019 and the intelligent sensor climate with a swipe of your finger, even with a mobile app. The right temperature is crucial for human well-being. With smart heating control, you can also save money! The Gigaset climate permanently measures the relative moisture content of the air. If the value is too high or low, the user is warned via the app. If necessary, he is reminded to ventilate or adjust his heating behavior. When used consistently, the small sensor can prevent costly elementary damage in the home – for example, by mold.
An absolute highlight of the 2019 product innovations is the Gigaset smart speaker L800HX. With this chic smart speaker, Gigaset has not only launched its first intelligent speaker on the market, but the world’s first voice-operated fixed network hands-free telephone. Telephone numbers can be easily dictated and call connections are established in first-class quality. Gigaset thus offers its customers real added value: classic DECT fixed network telephony combined with the innovative Alexa voice control. The Gigaset smart speaker has already received the coveted Plus X Award for the best product of the year.
Smartphones
Gigaset is also constantly developing its products in the field of smartphones: three more smartphones have been manufactured in Bocholt in North Rhine-Westphalia since this year. For customers, this means: short delivery times and quick repairs on site if the smartphone breaks down.
The summer was all about smartphones. Two entry-level models, the GS110 and GS190, and the design smartphone GS195 now complete the product portfolio. One device that is out of line is the GX290. The first outdoor smartphone from Gigaset impresses with its robustness and long battery life. The GX290 is the ideal companion in demanding situations – whether in the job on the construction site or during outdoor activities such as mountain biking, stand-up paddling (SUP) or rafting.
In autumn the fourth smartphone “Made in Germany” was presented – the GS290 convinces with a large display, wireless charging, NFC and a usual powerful battery. Ideal for everyone who travels a lot and does not want to go without their Gigaset smartphone.
Gigaset accompanies its customers in every phase of life – and also with the right smartphone: The GS195 LS was specifically developed for the needs of older people. In addition to internet function, camera and a large display, it has a particularly easy-to-use and easy-to-read user interface. With two GSM phones, Gigaset is expanding its life series portfolio with the first senior smartphone.
Phones
For many decades, Gigaset has been supplying high-quality telephones for a wide variety of life situations and areas of application. All those who want simple operation will love the Gigaset E290. The cordless large button telephone has one-touch dial buttons for important phone numbers and an amplifier function for extra loud listening.
The popular AS690 series only grew at the end of the year thanks to a universal handset for direct operation on compatible routers. The AS690 models are characterized by a high-contrast display, large buttons, intuitive operation and excellent voice quality and make phone calls a pleasure.
Professional
Gigaset offers companies innovative solutions on a large scale – with desk phones, cordless phones and base stations. Last year the Maxwell 4 was added – a high-end device from the successful Maxwell desk phone series that meets the requirements of companies with intensive telephony needs. In addition to a conventional keyboard, the Maxwell 4 also has an intuitive touchscreen with freely programmable display keys and offers perfect speech quality with HD audio.
With the N670 IP PRO base station manufactured in Bocholt, a single cell has been expanded to a multi-cell since summer. So the investment in the N670 IP PRO is an investment in the future. Additional base stations cover several floors or buildings and ensure continuous accessibility. This expansion option makes the N670 IP PRO particularly interesting for growing and emerging companies.
The largest research and development project in Gigaset history embodies the recently launched N870 IP PRO. The result is impressive: The new multi-cell system ensures seamless accessibility across the entire company campus or across decentralized company locations. The multi-cell system can now be scaled to up to 20,000 subscribers and 6,000 DECT base stations with the new N870 integrator software.
