The DECT ION handset was only launched just recently and has already now received the “Work from Home Award” from the Dutch trade magazine Baaz. Products were recognized that make working from home easier. In times of the coronavirus pandemic, these products in particular are more in demand than ever before.

Many employees have been working from home for more than a year and experiencing new challenges daily. To also be available from home, many companies are relying on professional VoIP communication solutions. That means many people working from home can be reached under their regular phone number via call forwarding. The sound often suffers from unstable Internet connections and missing headsets. The Gigaset ION solves that problem. The lean portable device works with any PC/UC client via USB and can be used flexibly thanks to the DECT dongle.

Although many modern laptops have a built-in microphone, the sound is often not particularly good, leading to tinny voices and bothersome background noise. The Gigaset ION remedies that. Baaz.nl writes: “The loudspeaker sound is spacious; the microphone has a clear sound.” And the ION automatically detects whether it’s being used handsfree or held up to the ear, and selects the corresponding mode automatically. The Gigaset ION thus adapts quickly without any difficulty to every situation in the office or working from home.

High range thanks to DECT technology

Thanks to DECT technology, the Gigaset ION has a maximum range of 50 meters indoors. Bluetooth has a range of just 10 meters. Another plus for the Gigaset ION, according to the Baaz.nl magazine.
