Farewell landline connection?

So why not go the whole hog and get rid of the landline connection at home? There are good reasons that keep Germans from doing that – the landline phone will always have a raft of crucial advantages over the smartphone.
There were a total of 38.8 million landline connections in Germany in 2018 – even more than the number in 2017. However, the mobile phone is the front-runner in terms of talk time: According to the German Federal Network Agency, around 119 billion minutes of calls were made by smartphone in 2018 – compared with “just” 107 billion minutes over the landline network (incidentally, that averages out at more than 21 hours per inhabitant and year).
Absolutely stable connection
Regardless of how quick or slow the pace of mobile network expansion is: The landline phone has always boasted consistently high voice quality. That means important calls, such as job interviews, should always be made with the landline phone.
