The business and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers examined current consumer trends along the customer journey for the current “Global Consumer Insights Survey -Pulse 6” and found: Stationary retail remains the most used shopping channel for German consumers. 34% shop in local shops at least weekly. But, and this is remarkable: the smartphone is the most important shopping channel next to brick-and-mortar retail. For just under half of German consumers, the device plays an important role for product research in advance. And almost every fourth person makes a purchase via smartphone at least once a week.

One of the biggest advantages of using a smartphone for online shopping is convenience. With a smartphone, you can shop online anytime and from anywhere. Whether at home on the couch or while waiting for the bus, bored in the waiting room – the smartphone makes shopping extremely easy.

It is also easy to compare prices and read product reviews using a smartphone. There are several apps that allow you to scan barcodes or QR codes of products in shops and then compare prices online at other retailers. Another advantage of shopping online with a smartphone is the speed with which one can browse and buy products. Online shopping apps designed specifically for mobile phones tend to be faster and more user-friendly than browsing the internet through a mobile browser. These apps are optimised for mobile use and usually have a faster checkout process to ensure quick and easy shopping.

The best choice for this is the Gigaset GS5 Lite. The smartphone combines stylish design with powerful technology, it has a sophisticated camera system and a very long-lasting battery. The GS5 Lite has a screen diagonal of 16 cm, is crisp, bright and more than twice as long as it is wide.  Perfect for online research . This makes it the ideal companion for everyday digital shopping: its housing with a textured back ensures a secure grip and pleasant feel, the camera takes razor-sharp pictures, and the replaceable battery promises up to 30 hours of talk time.

According to Statista, 22% of German internet users now shop online via mobile devices at least once a week. According to an extrapolation, around 1.4 trillion US dollars were generated worldwide with m-commerce in 2017. Globally, the market size of mobile commerce is estimated at just under 268 billion US dollars in 2021. According to forecasts, m-commerce will generate sales of 1.9 trillion US dollars worldwide in 2030.
