Mamma Mia, Waterloo, SOS – the old ABBA hits still manage to bowl you over. Which goes to prove some things never change in the course of more than 40 years. But others do. For example, our sight and hearing. After all, 40 years leave their mark on us.

The idea for our new Gigaset DL580 did not therefore simply spring up out of nowhere – the device carries on the long tradition of our large-button phones. Demographic change will continue to impact society and places special demands on products and services. We at Gigaset observed such trends very early on and responded to them. With phones that have particularly large buttons, displays that are easy to read, and convenience features that are practical in everyday life and useful in emergencies. Even though our sensory perceptions may be a little diminished, that does not need to affect how we’re able to communicate with other people. The Gigaset DL580 makes it very easy to keep in contact with the people we love and who are important to us.

Support for the eyes …

The buttons on the new DL580 are non-slip and have a distinct pressure point. The clear panorama display with large fonts and clean-cut graphics is also able to cope with difficult lighting conditions. The integrated directory holds up to 99 numbers that are easy to retrieve. Especially important numbers – for family, friends or the doctor, for example – can be stored on four speed dial keys right below the display and dialed at the touch of the button. The first button is red and serves as the emergency call button.

To prevent any missed calls, the DL580 has a range of especially loud ringtones that are aided by a visual signal. When a call comes in, a wide LED strip lights up on the front of the device – this is especially helpful when the radio or TV is on. During calls, the handset volume can be doubled by pressing the “extra loud” button.

The new large-key phone from Gigaset is hearing-aid-compatible (HAC). This ensures that the sound quality with hearing aids is as good as always and without any disturbing noises. To avoid being bothered by unwanted calls, the DL580 also has features a practical blocked list – up to ten numbers can thus simply be muted. After all, there are bothersome contemporaries at every age.

What is good and helpful for the elderly can’t be bad for youngsters, either. That’s why Gigaset DL580 is recommended for just about every age group, since it boasts a large number of convenience features that will also appeal to younger people.
